سجدہ گاہ ’’گاہ‘‘ کے لاحقے والے تقریباً تمام لفظ مؤنث ہیں، مثلاً: امید گاہ، قیام گاہ، عیش گاہ، فرود گاہ، منزل گاہ، خواب گاہ، قتل گاہ، وغیرہ۔ لیکن ’’جلوہ گاہ‘‘ مذکر ہے۔ قائم چاند پوری ؎ ویراں سرائے سینہ سے آتی ہے بوئے انس گویا کبھو یہ خانہ ترا جلوہ گاہ تھا غالب کا شعر ہے ؎ سنتے ہیں جو بہشت کی تعریف سب درست لیکن خدا کرے وہ ترا جلوہ گاہ ہو اس سلسلۂ الفاظ میں یہ بات دلچسپ ہے کہ یہ سارے الفاظ مستقل لفظ کا حکم رکھتے ہیں۔ یہ اضافت مقلوبی نہیں ہیں کہ ان کو پلٹ کر لفظ کی ’’اصل‘‘ شکل حاصل ہوسکے۔ مثلاً ’’امید گاہ‘‘ تو درست ہے، لیکن ’’گاہ امید‘‘ مع اضافت ہو یا بے اضافت، دونوں طرح مہمل ہے۔ یہی عالم اس قبیل کے اور الفاظ کا ہے۔
