مان دان ’’رسم رواج‘‘ کے معنی میں یہ فقرہ عورتوں کی زبان پر کبھی تھا۔ اب عورتوں کا کوئی مخصوص روز مرہ نہیں رہ گیا، بعض بعض لغات مخصوص بہ زناں اب عام زبان میں شامل ہوگئے ہیں۔ ’’مان دان‘‘ ان میں سے نہیں ہے۔’’تعظیم و احترام، آؤ بھگت، خاطر لحاظ‘‘ وغیرہ کے معنی میں یہ فقرہ ہندی والوں کے یہاں اکثر دیکھا جاتا ہے۔ لیکن یہ بات میری سمجھ سے باہر ہے کہ اردو والے اس بھونڈے فقرے کو ان معنی میں قبول کرنے پر کیوں مائل ہیں۔ ہندی میں بھی یہ نوخاستہ اور نوساختہ ہے۔ نہ ’’شبد ساگر‘‘ میں اس کا پتہ ہے نہ میک گریگر(Mc Gregor) کے آکسفورڈ ہندی لغت میں۔ اس لفظ سے مکمل پرہیز لازم ہے۔
