अरबी साल के अंतिम महीने (ज़िल-हिज्जा) का 24 दिनांक ख़ुशी और उत्साह का दिन है, इसी तारीख़ को पैग़म्बर मोहम्मद साहब ने ईश्वर की आज्ञा पर अपनी बेटी फ़ातिमा, दामाद अली, नवासे हसन और हुसैन को अपने साथ ले कर नजरान के ईसाइयों से मुबाहला (एक-दूसरे को अभिशाप देना) करने वहाँ पहुँचे, इन पाँचों लोगों को देख कर ईसाइयों ने मबाहला नहीं करने का निर्णय लिया और जिज़्या (कर) देना स्वीकार किया, इस विजय की ख़ुशी में शीआ लोग उत्सव मनाते हैं, इसी घटना के संदर्भ में 'पंजतन-पाक' की परिभाषा चलन में आई
