نشست فارسی میں اول مکسور اور دوم مفتوح ہے۔ سعدی کے مشہور قطعے کے دو شعر ہیں ؎ بگفتا من گلے ناچیز بودم ولیکن مدتے با گل نشستم جمال ہم نشیں در من اثر کرد وگرنہ من ہماں خاکم کہ ہستم امیر خسرو کہتے ہیں ؎ وز پس اسپاں صف پیلان مست ابر و ہوا کردہ بہ صحرا نشست ’’نوراللغات‘‘ کے سوا تمام اردو لغات میں بھی’’ نشست‘‘ بکسرۂ اول و بفتحۂ دوم لکھا ہے۔ ’’نور‘‘ میں اول دوم دونوں مفتوح لکھے ہیں۔ یہ تلفظ اب کہیں سننے میں نہیں آتا۔ ممکن ہے لکھنؤ میں ستّراسّی برس پہلے بولتے ہوں۔ شان الحق حقی نے’’فرہنگ تلفظ‘‘ میں اول دوم دونوں مکسور لکھے ہیں۔ شاید اہل دہلی کا یہ تلفظ کبھی تھا، اب تو دہلی والے اس سے واقف نہیں۔ دہلی میں اب سبھی لوگ اس لفظ کو اول مفتوح اور دوم مکسور کے ساتھ بولتے ہیں۔ یہی تلفظ اور علاقوں میں بھی لوگوں کی زبان پر ہے اوریہی مرجح ہے۔ کوئی اسے اول مکسوراور دوم مفتوح کے ساتھ بولے تو اسے غلط نہیں کہا جائے گا، لیکن نا مناسب، یا غیر مروج تلفظ ضرور کہا جائے گا۔ اس تلفظ پر اصرار کرنا غلط ہے، آج کے اعتبار سے صحیح تلفظ بفتح اول اور بکسر دوم ہی ہے۔
